I live right around the corner from this bridge and was fascinated with it when we first moved in. But then I looked closer. The kids walk across it to get to school in the morning and it is literally lined with people selling drugs. Another time, my young son was accosted by a homeless man who was sleeping under... More

I came to photograph the bridges in the area and came upon this historical and preserved bridge. As you enter from the street there is information on the inside and as you exit the bridge on the other side is a wonderful park to enjoy, including a sculpture to climb for photos. Worth your time for a visit!

This is a delightful spot to walk along the river. There is a highway bridge nearby so it is possible to walk in a loop. There is a historical display near the bridge with lots of photos of the original lumber mill and railroad for which the bridge was built. Sometimes we bring folding lawn chairs and have a picnic... My husband, our friends, from Louisiana and myself spent several days driving throughout Oregon. One of my hopes was to find a few covered bridges. Some of the mapping for the bridges aren't accurate enough, but, with some perseverance and a good GPS, we found this delightful railroad bridge. Of special note, it was cool to see how the architects... More

I visited this former railroad covered bridge as part of the Historical Society's Covered Bridge Driving Tour which was excellent. I saw all 7 bridges including this one. Very good displays for this bridge all about the history of the bridge and the area. Lovely walk and Lovely park. Good photo op.

You can feed ducks and geese just a little ways from this bridge. The bridge used to be used to transport lumber by railroad. There is a little park here on one side of the bridge and a great photo taking area.

Always take visitors to see this bridge. It is well documented and there is a nice little park for picnics if one chooses.Wheelchair accessible from the park side of the bridge which is actually the back entrance. This is one of six wonderful covered bridges in Cottage Grove!

This is really easy to find and makes a fun quick stop. It is really clear they had a ton of money to spend on the restoration as there is lots of metal art that is in the bridge that you really cannot see and a huge sweeping ramp up to it that seems pretty extravagant for a old railroad... More

This bridge has been reconstructed in the last couple of years. . It was originally a railroad bridge that served a huge lumber mill and yard. The mill burned to the ground in 1932. This is the only remaining covered railroad bridge west of the Mississippi.
