Vista House is ideally situated for beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge. Photo opportunities abound. Careful in February, though. The Gorge is a funnel that can pour a cold, wet, wind down toward Portland at high velocity. The day I was there the east wind was a steady 35mpg but gusting to 75mph. That can blow you off your... Great views of Columbia River in multiple directions (including of WA state on the other side of the river). Small gift shop for tourists. Sunny days would be better than cloudy for best experience.

Great scenic views both east and west in the Columbia River Gorge. A small gift shop serves the many tourists who stop here on thier way to Multnomah Falls via the scenic highway. Great old architecture, lots of parking, no food or other services.

Vista House is a MUST SEE for anyone who travels along the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Take the drive on the historic scenic highway and see multiple water falls, beautiful sites, and panoramic views of the Columbia River Gorge. The pinnacle at the top of the highway is the fabulous Vista House. I recommend timing your visit so you... More

Driving up to this place is impressive and finding out how old it is makes it more impressive. The wind was really whipping through here when we visiting and the upper deck was closed. There is a museum and pics from the past in the lower level and it's nice to see that this place has been kept up. FYI... More

I visited there in November. It was a chilly day and the cold breeze on the hill was making it feel like Antarctica. Although I couldn't stand more than 10 minutes out of the car, the scenery was fabulous. You can enjoy the amazing view of the Colombia gorge and the beautiful valley. Please bring warm clothing with you.

Interesting architecture and history of how this scenic highway came about. Stop at the historic marker before you get to the Vista House for the story. Good folks manning the visitors desk and a lot of good views. We were there in the off-season so I would imagine traffic may be a little bad in the summer.

The Vista House sits in the middle of Crown Point. The highway wraps around the building. Has history boards and items inside. Check first for open hours.

Be very careful about the winds and weather as this is a cliff drive. The day we visited the winds were almost 50 mph and we could barely get out of the car.
