About
Icefire Glassworks is a working hot shop and art gallery that makes finely crafted blown glass. We feature the work of James Kingwell, Suzanne Kindland, Michelle Kaptur and Mark Gordon. We also carry fused glass (abstracts by Robert Tamis, land- and seascapes by Steven Krig, wildlife-themed representational pieces by Kathleen Sheard and fun-functional work by Teresa Kowalski), as well as marbles by Anthony Parker, and beads and jewelry by Laura Bowker. We are just 75 miles from Portland Oregon. We are currently limited to 9 persons plus staff in our gallery. We are looking forward to the time when Covid restrictions are lifted, but in the meantime please wear your face covering. Our hours are Saturday through Wednesday 10:00 to 5:00; Thursday and Friday Noon to 5:00.

Beautiful store and the artists are super friendly. Loved getting to talk with them about the process of making the art and explore the shop. Every piece is unique and gorgeous! Loved getting to stop in here on our trip.

So many talented artists featured. Worth a visit. At this time, remember to wear a mask, they are required. :)

Very nice glassworks

We missed the the glassblowing exhibition. However, we purchased a beautiful, handblown fish for $125, which we thought was reasonable. The person at the desk was quite friendly, and wrapped the piece very well.

Well we revisit in Cannon Beach my wife and I had purposed to stop at the Icefire glassworks. They have an amazing display of handcrafted glass work and articles. We were lucky enough to see an actual glass blowing display. I can never get enough of watching a skilled artisans plying the trade.Definitely worth a stop.

Wonderful glass works here. Nice demonstration about 20 minutes. Very talented. The cost of the pieces were out of our price range but glad we stopped in.

A feast for eye and great entertainment - A must visit

The name is not what you think. Its a place where they blow glass and make a variety of artistic shapes; e.g. vases, bulbs, plates, etc. The owners have an area where you can "safely" sit ringside and watch as they create a work of art being with pulling molten glass out, firing it in a kiln, then turn into something beautiful. The artist will let you know what he/she is doing as they go through the process. Jim, one of the owners, is always willing to take the time to speak to everyone and answer any questions you may have. Its a great place for young and old.

We bought a glass starfish as a keepsake of our trip to Cannon Beach. This is a great little shop with very high quality glass art.

THANK YOU TRIPADVISOR

This was another one of those places you'd never know about if it weren't for TA.

After lunch we headed south along Hemlock Street, about a 10-minute walk from the main village. At the corner of Gower Street (with excellent beach access to Haystack Rock after you're done) is the unassuming Icefire Glassworks. I guess we were lucky that a couple was hard at work creating a small vase when we arrived.

It's uncommon to have such direct access to an artisan while they're working with viewing through a glass wall with stools set up so you can stay a while and an opportunity to speak with them after they're done. I've seen glass before but this was the first time I saw someone applying gold leaf.

If you're planning to buy something bring money. We bought a beautiful starfish for $85, vases were in the $200-500 range, and they had some beautiful plates and wall art for $2000+. But it's free to watch the work being done and there's no pressure to buy anything. This was a fascinating 30 minutes for both the adults and the kids (12 and 8 years old).
