Cape Falcon Trail is 6 miles round trip. Views from the end point are spectacular. Moderate hike, through old growth and varied terrain - none too challenging. An alternate half-mile route ends at Short Sands Beach - a great beginner surfing beach with picnic tables and easy access for Surfers from the parking lot on East side of 101.

This is an enjoyable walk from the larger parking lot on the east side of 101. Just go to the north end of the lot and find the trail that goes under the highway bridge. Just a half mile along rush Short Sand Creek brings visitors to a beautiful beach, with the lovely surprise of waterfalls draping the forest edge!

This is an excellent option if you're looking to get away into the woods for a few hours. This State Park is just a few minutes south of Cannon Beach, so it is convenient to town. However when you enter it is a completely different world. There is a set of parking lots right off the highway that serve as... More

What a lovely place to go for short hikes! It was raining when I was there but that made it almost more beautiful!

We stumbled across this park on our visit to Cannon Beach. So glad we did as it was absolutely breathtaking! Both my husband and I teared up when we arrived at the end of the trail where the forest meets the ocean because it was THAT beautiful!!!! This spot made me fall in love with the Oregon coast. I cannot... More

A must experience when you come to the Oregon coast. Take a walk through old grown forest on a paved path from Hwy 101 to the beach. A popular surfing spot, but a beautiful forest/sea experience you will remember. This photograph is of Short Sands Beach where you can bask in the sun and take in the view. (Summer)

I'm over the top in love with this place. The forest and ocean is amazing. There is a trail or view to fill every heart with wonder. Having said all that, I don't want to share it!

while traveling south along the coast we stopped here for some hiking. It was overcast with off/on rain but the trail is mostly paved. The trees and foliage were absolutely breathtaking. Being from so cal, I've never seen such beautiful landscaping. Lots of different trails and easy walking

Since I was a kid, my folks took us to Short Sands Beach, plus when we had company. Now there are restrooms on each of the trails so you don't have to hike all the way back to the parking lot! And they have wonderful trails now and well kept! A lot of fun to check the tide pools for... More

This is a great park right off the 101. It's a short, easy walk for adults and kids of all ages. We had our 6 month old in a backpack. Be prepared for wet weather and some slippery conditions on the trails. I found a small glass buoy along with our items with lots of Japanese writing on the beach... More
