Wow you can drive right down to the river. Take your wine and cheese and some friends and you have a perfect ending to a beautiful hike.

Loeb park has always been a pretty bend in the river, and the efforts of the parks departments have kept it looking great. Easy to find a few miles up the Chetco river, the park has plenty of picnicking and camping sites for tent and...More

Highly recommend! Thing I can't remember is can you get 'reservations' for a camp site or is it 'first come-first served.' If so plan on getting there early in the day and just wait for the first opening.

We will definitely revisit this campground and the park. The campground host was extremely helpful. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Camp sites are large....most all sites are river front. Bathrooms, hot showers are all sparkling clean. Redwood hikes start right at the park...More

I rented one of the cabins on the camp ground and stayed there for two nights with my kids while we explored the redwoods and the nearby beaches during the days. The cabins are in great shape and directly face the river. It's only a...More

You are 8 miles from the ocean, so, it's a long way. Most get out at Social Security Bar, 4 miles south of Loeb. Fun no matter what you choose =)

No, too dangerous when you get closer to the ocean. But, then again, if you want an adventure and a LONG ride, go for it!!
