When we were kids this park was overflowing with Rhododendron and Azaleas that were 10 feet high and around that would explode with color in May. While the park is still quite beautiful, there are clear signs of change that both beautify and infringe on the natural state. The new chapel is very pretty and the translucent architecture adds to... More

Lovely small park over looking the Chetco river. Easy walking paths and benches. A wide variety of Azaleas and Rhodendrons make this a must see in May.

Nice sunny day. I had no idea that azalias got so big. Most everything was in bloom. It was absolutely gorgeous. The Cappella was open and that was a real treat. Loved the building and view.

It seems to be quite the happening place even in the winter time during Nature's Coastal Holiday Light Show. Community volunteers come together and spend hours... days... weeks... creating a fantasy of light sculptures and music... to bedazzle onlookers . This amazing Holiday Display takes place nightly from 5:00 to 9:00 pm beginning the day after Thanksgiving and lasting into... More

Time your visit when the flowers are in full bloom. I think we were about a week late, but it was still beautiful and worth the visit. It can be a bit hard to find as we were expecting it to be much bigger.

I grew up with Azalea Park, and some changes have made me sad over the years but others are great, Kids Town playground, the Gazebo, the sound stage for free summer concerts every Sunday most of the summer, the beautiful Cappella with it's inherent spirituality, the lights of Coastal Christmas in December, and the smell of wild Azaleas when they... Just minutes from our house in Brookings, this lovely park is aptly named - a world of colors and beauty. Open to the public, there is a chapel and play park for children. Most famous during the holidays when a score of local elves but together the most dazzling lighted extravaganza, the magical sea creatures come to life and make... More
