This small museum is remarkable. I really have never seen another museum like it. It does a wonderful job of depicting the life, influences and genius of Woody Guthrie and also showcases the era that influenced him and the artists who were influenced by Guthrie's protest songs. You will learn about the dustbowl, the depression and WWII. There are interactive... More

The Woody Guthrie Center is an amazing tribute to the life and history of Woody Guthrie. Be sure to have plenty of time available. You will want to look among the pieces on display. Watch the videos. And possibly just sit and look at other people coming and going. There has been quite a few famous names that have come... More

I had been to Tulsa a couple times before but had not gotten the chance to stop here. I am very glad we took the time. I could have spent a lot more time in this museum. It is full of interesting facts & memorabilia. You will learn a lot about the history of music here. The whole street is... More

Loved this little museum in revitalized downtown Tulsa. Who can forget, "This land is your land, this land is my land . . ."? History of Woody's complicated and tragic marriages and end of life due to Huntington's disease were very interesting. The lyrics of so many songs he produced during the dustbowl are poignant, and the images and interviews... More

The museum was very well done. It was very interesting to learn about Woody Guthrie - his music, art, like, etc. The song "this land it my land, this land is your land" jingled in my mind for days after the visit.
