I'm just amazed how our ancestors survived in the early years. Seeing this fort at Fort Gibson, tells us a lot. It will take you back, many years! It just makes you think. We are who we are because of the men who stood their...More

Made a special trip to see the fort. There is a lot of construction due to a storm. After repaired it should be great. Wait until they get done!

I think we must have visited after a big storm. Many of the barracks were undergoing roof repairs. We enjoyed some good photo ops, but there isn't much to do other than walk around right now. Still a good, free atttaction.

I enjoyed my visit. The displays were well labeled and the guide was knowledgeable and answered questions.

Enjoyed the fort and seeing the restoration. Kids liked the displays, jail (munitions), and stocks. Great place to burn some energy when traveling with kids!

When we saw that it was being restored, we assumed this would be a quick 10-15 minute stop. It would have been, but the gentleman in charge was exceptional. The building has a small collection of artifacts, and there are three other buildings to look...More

They are in process of needed repairs. It was in very sad shape!! Why did the town permit it to deteriorate as it did. The other historical buildings such as the Military Hospital is going to rack and ruin!
