There may be stranger parts of Route 66, but I doubt it.

And I mean that in a good way. First of all, the Curiosity Shop is not really a shop. It's more like a museum. Or maybe your crazy uncle's garage that he's been meaning to... read more

And I mean that in a good way. First of all, the Curiosity Shop is not really a shop. It's more like a museum. Or maybe your crazy uncle's garage that he's been meaning to clean out for the past 40 years. The shop is owned and run by Harley. He is a one-of-a-kind musician and raconteur. He will entertain... ...I'm so glad they didn't provide more information. It would have taken away from what was a wonderful, memorable and heartfelt visit to this incredible time capsule in the middle of - well - nowhere. As some background - The Mediocre Music Makers (Harley & Annabelle) act began more than a decade ago in the Russells’ old City Meat Market... More

We first stopped at the Curiosity Shop 6 years on a Route 66 trip. Harley and his wife Annabelle were there and gave us a tour of the shop and even their home (what Harley calls the Redneck Castle). So many great signs and other Route 66 memorabilia. I could stay all day. Harley and Annabelle would sing and entertain... More

Shame on you my fellow travelers for either not coming by this place or not leaving a review. I give Harley, and his Dog shine a standing ovation. I call him a collector he calls himself a pack rat, but we won't argue. He's got a collection you wouldn't believe and boy is he an entertainer. I'm so glad I... More

This little out of the way shop is a true step back in to the Route 66 history. Harley is unique in his own right if you are anywhere near Erick, Oklahoma you just have to stop and see his shop. I have to give this place my personnel 5 Star approval ....

What a cool place! My son was so disappointed because he could not buy anything, but it was great for the rest of us. He complained for the rest of the day because Harley has so much cool stuff that he wanted to buy. Harley sang and played guitar and took our picture, so I forgive him for not being... More

We made this stop along our Route 66 exploration. Our daughter is a Disney CARS enthusiast and we had a list of stops that were inspirations for the movie. This shop was the inspiration for Lizzy's Curios, Harley one of the inspirations for Mater. Harley has such a collection of memorabilia, it is an American Pickers' dream! Harley was welcoming... We thought we would stop here as we had seen some information on the famous Sandhill Curiosity Shop along route 66. How glad we were that we did we met Harley in his shop and it was fabulous he is a lovely person and we stayed for about 45 minutes looking round his store and he also took us to... More

The Sandhill Curiosity Shop is alive and well in Erick, OK. Sadly, half of the team, Annabelle, passed away on Sep. 30, 2014. You can tell Harley misses her, but he's still alive and kicking, entertaining and bringing joy to his Route 66 visitors. We got a video of Harley singing (and he's pretty good too) and got the full... More
