We were very thrilled to see the building, but didn't realize that the headquarters has moved away and the building is closed and deserted! Since it's almost like looking at a photo, it's not worth going out of your way to drive to the empty building.

Hello, I am sorry you did not get to tour our former Home Office but I hope you knew the Longaberger Homestead is still very much open and we have the world's largest Apple Basket! We still offer Basket Manufacturing Tours through the week at our Homestead/Manufacturing Campus in Frazeysburg, Ohio which is just 20 minutes east of our former... More

This building was built by Longaberger basket company a few years ago. This building is amazing to see in person. It truly looks just like a large basket.

As a manufacturers' rep, I have toured many manufacturing plants. Longaberger obviously was a booming operation at one time, but the Internet, easier access to Asian knock-offs, and the ability for a consumer to eliminate various marketing strata has taken its told on the firm. The tour was interesting, and the guide told us some of what the new management... More

I went to the Longaberger Homestead for the first time. It was outstanding. I met many of the Longaberger family and the incredibly talented weavers. I also had an opportunity to weave my own basket with the help of a professional weaver. In fact, the first weaver for the company was onsite and signed the bottom of my basket. I... More

The largest basket is a very unique building. There is a movement to have it declared a historic site. Seeing the weavers work is fascinating. There are things available at the homestead that are only available there. Just a few miles is historic Dresden OH. You can find one of a kind items and prototype baskets. Retired baskets can be... This is not even a shadow of the vibrant town of a decade ago. Dresden is down to, I think 10 die-hard merchants....God Bless them. Homestead is deserted, parking lot all pitted and broken up. Stores had little of interest. We used to love Dresden and The Homestead but all it is now is a depressing reminder of what one... More

If you only stopped by here to get a photo of the giant apple basket, you would be doing yourself a disservice. The homestead and showrooms are a treasure trove of baskets to suit all purposes, but there are many more gift items and household wares to purchase as well. The food on offer is pretty good, but DO NOT... More

I took my mother here for Mother's Day last year, and it was absolutely deplorable. My mother was a consultant and diehard basket lover for twenty years. She used to routinely take bus tours to the Homestead, the corporate building in Newark, and then to the town of Dresden. In the late 90s and early 00s, these were thriving businesses,... More

I am sorry you had such a bad experience last year. Long gone are most days we are greeted with large crowds and Dresden filled with people. The economy has really hit our type of industry hard as with most types of companies we partnered with throughout the years but we are still open and feel our company still has... More
