Very beautiful and relaxing. You can take a book and relax in the shade or just sit awhile and take in the landscaping. check out their web page for times you can visit in this Month only (June)

Schnormeier Gardens is a Japanese Style botanical garden located in the rolling hills of central Ohio. It is the home of owner and designer Ted Schnormeier who has graciously opened his property to the public once a year, usually the first week of June. This garden rivals Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The beautiful hills and reflecting ponds and lake all surrounded by lush trees and flowers all hand picked by Ted. There is a Japanese Tea House sitting on a lake as well as a Chinese Pagoda set back into the trees further into the property. It is peaceful and serene and begs you to find a secret hiding place to sit and read a book or snooze under a tree. It is also a hop, skip and a jump from the historic Kenyon College in Gambier. the town of Gambier is a friendly college town with shops, deli's and coffee houses dotting the streets. It feels like a little slice of the East Coast. So if you visit north central Ohio, be sure to check out both. You'll be glad you did.

The Schnormeier Gallery is quaint and always has great artwork. I’ve been to several different art receptions here and they are always fun and lively. After stopping here, be sure to head about 5 miles down the road to the Gund Gallery at Kenyon College. Both of these galleries are a great addition to the town of Mount Vernon and can be enjoyed by all ages.

On this particular visit I was mainly interested in the photographs taken of Ariel Foundation Park in Mt Vernon. These vibrant and history telling photos showed the demolition of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass building to the awesome transformation of Ariel Foundation Park in Mt Vernon, Oh. However, There were exquisite paintings and sculptors on display as well provided by various artists. Truly, a Gallery worth seeing.
