I was very impressed with this canyon. We did all the 697 steps and every step was worth the views. It's a circuit walk with a side trip to Cruickshank lookout. A little further up the road there is another carpark for the Canyon floor walk. I did this one too and loved it. Be careful near the end as... More

Been a while since I have been here, and you take for granted Tasmania's beautiful scenery. The walks take you through rainforest to lookouts where the immense power of nature shows through. A definite recommendation for a 1/2 day adventure.

Lovely drive up to the Canyon from Ulverstone, then once there a variety of options is available, in summer loverly area for a picnic, games with the family and several different walks can be taken ending up with the walkout onto the Canyon Lookout platform where lovely scenic views are had both up and down the Canyon. In winter especially... More

A short sloping uphill walk from the parking takes you to a metal bridge at Cruikshanks Lookout for this amazing canyon view which you wouldn't believe was here as the river soon opens out again. From here you can either return to the carpark or walk down the 697 forest stairs to the walk to the lower lookout. We walked... More

500 meter walk from car park to spectacular scenery of the canyon - the large ferns on the walk in are also great.

Worth the drive and negotiating the extremely confusing road system in this part of Tasmania. There is a short walk to a fantastic lookout with jaw dropping view over the canyon. Not to be missed.

I stopped here on my way to visit family. After google maps leading me astray I just followed the signs haha. Pretty easy to find when doing so. I did the loop and stopped at top and bottom lookout. Great walk to do some segments steep but plenty of options to stop and rest and being that it's a 45... More

An extremely pleasant place to walk and view the surroundings. The Lookout loop needs a moderate level of fitness but is well worth it. We found it better anti-clockwise so you are walking down 697 steps, rather than up. The Floor Walk was damaged by flood and didn't quite get to Devils Elbow so I wouldn't recommend that part of... Great views over the leven canyon. Nice walk to the look out. Took roughly 15 mins return. Although we decided to do the 45 return once at the lookout!

We did the walk at the top and the bottom of the canyon, including the 697 steps. I suggest to start with Cruickshanks Lookout walk first, that way, you go down the steps of the forest walk. The platform lookout are well located. As for the floor walk (bottom of the canyon), we drove to the parking near the start... More
