It had just snowed when we arrived. Surrounds were magnificent. Drank hot chocolate, mochas and ate delicious scones around fireplace in local cafe.

Regrettably we only had a few hours here, but yet again, found the park very well managed, the walking tracks well maintained and marked. Full marks to Tasmanian Parks service.

Had trouble getting a parking spot so we decided to drive to the boat ramp to get a view of the lake, other people had the same idea. Quiet, nice spot, unspoilt wilderness.

This would have to be one of the best places in Tassie to visit. Just magnificent. So peaceful and quiet, a slice of heaven on earth.

Stopped on our way through to Strahan for morning tea. Took a walk to the lake which was very beautiful and peaceful. Had morning tea at the cafe - definitely don't have the devonshire teas - the scones are like rock cakes. The visitor centre...More

Tour the lake by ferry or go half-ferry and half-walk back to the lodge. Would be great to swim here!
