Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in at the Mother of Ducks Lagoon to have our morning tea.
It is a lovely spot with a picnic area, amenities and a nice walk out to a large gazebo to watch for birds. There are lots of birds. What we noticed this time is that there are a few caravan sites and even a book exchange. Lovely peaceful spot off the highway.

In contrast to other reviewers, by November 2021, the lagoon had filled and was most attractive, with quite a few birds observed even though we visited in the middle of the day, rather than dawn or dusk.

The toilets were clean but sagaciously hidden from the picnic facilities.

There was a good map.

A credit to the Guyra community, who by the way are hardworking and produce export income for Australia as well as helping to satisfy our need for food and fibres.

This is not a lagoon or even a lake but a canal and despite this it was good to see a few birds flying/walking about. From the viewing platform it can be seen what was once an enormous lake area and today it may be a nature reserve however it is a pity to see what man has done in the past.

As the ‘Mother of Mud’ reviewer said below, this is not a lagoon of water anymore. After recent rains there was a little water but mostly just aquatic weeds as far as the eye could see from the viewing platform. We visited late afternoon but didn’t see or hear a single bird, turtle, or lizard. Very sad.

Lovely place for a walk, or picnic. Beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife. There are bbqs, tables and shelters and off street parking.

We were excited when we read about this venue after booking a night in Guyra - a large body of water visited by birds of all types from many places, with a covered viewing platform.
However, the reality was bitterly disappointing - a channel had been dug a couple of years ago so the water drains away.
No birds today; just mud, brown grass and a few shallow, stagnant pools.
"There has not been any water or birds here for 2 years" we were informed by a lady on the golf course which abuts the lagoon (and which you must cross to access the viewing platform).
Now we know why there are no signs directing anyone to the platform!
The NSW government's park's website is misleading and they should be ashamed of themselves for the coverage of this Guyra "attraction".
Our advice: don't bother looking for it. Very sad.

Have stop at Mother of Ducks Lagoon for lunch several times and it is a nice and relaxing spot. Open air and undercover dining tables over-looking the lagoon and golf course. Nice and clean and worth a visit

We stayed here for 2 nights during the trout festival, we fished in the local trout stocked dam with great success catching 4 rainbow trout and 3 red fin perch. We lost 3 other big trout, but I did catch the biggest trout I have ever caught 60 cm weighing 3.5 kg.
