It is an amazing building and holds over 70,000 books amd celebrates the written word. There are a lot of different events held for adults and children. I enjoyed having a browse round the Catherine Cookson Exhibition as I used to love reading her books....More

The Word is Brilliant! Public library! Excibitions taking place all the time! Groups of interest for all young and old! Local history and a fabulous gift shop!! Cafe looking onto the river ... who could ask for more! Very central to Town Ctr

Unless you get a kick looking at books I would not waste the time. Stay clear.. there is little to engage anyone who is not 'into' books

The world is a very interesting place to visit as well as having exhibitions you can also use the archives to help with your family tree i found this very helpful also good for children

10 til 4. Free (limited spaces) parking across the road near ferry landing, behind BT call centre.

I'm sorry I cannot help you out on this one. I know there's numerous events and exhibitions on throughout the year. Try having a look on their website, I'm sure all events will be on there.
