Wow and awesome is what I can say about this place. Beautiful scenery and nature at its best! WE stayed for hours and even went to the shop there and the tearoom was absolutely amazing.

This is an ideal area to get a taste of the high ground near to road access. The ridge along the spine of The Roaches is easily attained and once on it a steady walk. The are several altenative routes to return to the car. Be careful to only park in designated parking spaces beneath The Roaches (don't be tempted... More

We had another great weekend at the cottage. 6 like minded walkers spent a fantastic weekend in the very cosy Smithy's Cottage and had afternoon cream teas in the tea rooms. Even if you're not into the walking just being their with the breathtaking views across the valley, or the Roaches with Hen Cloud, are amazing. No to mention the... More

We spent the most of the afternoon driving around all the rocks formations and watching the rock climbers, fabulous views of Leek's valley and it is always a great place to visit during your stay in the Peak District!!!

It will also prove challenging to anyone with bad... More

A friend actually recommended we go here. There are some nice views and it's a fair climb to the top. An ice cream van also is stationed along the road if that tickles your fancy. Not much to say but definitely one for hikers

The Roaches are beautiful, the walking was excellent, but please be aware... only park in the designated layby . We parked just in front of a layby as it was full, there was no visible parking restriction signage and when we came back we had received a parking notice. It turns out the sign was 50 yards further up the... More
