Loved our day! Can't wait to come back!!
Jun 2021 • Friends
Absolutely amazing day out!! The queue times were pretty low considering, longest was about 40 minutes for oblivion & the smiler and that's including time where the Smiler had technical difficulties. We had a burger from the burger shack, bit expensive at £8.50 but you'd expect that from a theme park (one member of staff was a bit unnecessarily rude, if you don't like your job or the public - find a new career path, there's no need to be rude to people). Arrived at 11ish & left at 8, we got on all the main rides twice, TH13TEEN didn't open until around 6pm which was disappointing, however I still managed to ride it!! The photo situation is hard work when there is 3 of you, the camera only gets 2, I'm not sure if this is possible on all rides but the lovely man who was doing the Rita photos, kindly zoomed out to get all 3 of us on it, it would be nice if this was an option if a cross the board, if I'd have known someone would always be cut off (except rita) I wouldn't have purchased the 4 photo options at the entrance. Overall it was a very very lovely day out, and we CANNOT WAIT to come back!!!

Avoid monorail back at end of day 70% not wearing masks!
May 2021 • Family
Currently at Alton Towers doing a 2day 1 night stay trip with a family of 4.

The good:
Staff
Didn’t notice any litter and lots of litter bins around to keep it that way.
Great family time
Nice room at Woodland lodge, with some minor changes could be even better.
Attractions felt COVID safe on the whole, but improvements could be made at some attractions.

The Bad:
Monorail leaving the park, 70% of people not wearing masks in the indoor queue or on the actual monorail, causing anxiety.
Teenage daughter started having a anxiety panic attack, due to the situation. Tomorrow we will walk, even with tired kids.
Not enough staff to monitor the situation.
Didn’t see or hear any staff in the park telling guests to wear a mask or put it on correctly, though enforcing when getting on rides.
With case numbers going up and a more transmissible variant in circulation this is diabolical!
Breakdown on rides, purchased gold fast pass but 13 and Galactica down for most of the day so couldn’t get on these. As by the time they were up and running again was towards the end of the day and we were in a different area of park.

Skyliner down for short period, meaning we wasted some time dealing with this inconvenience.

On the whole good but should have been better. Guests should have to adhere to wearing masks in the monorails queue indoors and on the train, unless exempt and these customers should be separated from others for safety reasons. Bitterly disappointed to see it was the majority not complying and no action taken by park staff on this occasion. I even mentioned it t o the 1 member of staff on the monorail platform, but he was understaffed with no support so couldn’t do anything.

The busiest Alton Towers has ever been
Jun 2021 • Couples
WARNING: Park is at full capacity, however rides are half capacity.

Me and my partner were tricked into thinking the park was half full, so it would be less busy. Alton towers is the busiest it's ever been! Queues are 120+ minutes, so if you do go, be prepared to buy a fast track. Also bare in mind, the fast track queues are around 40 minutes.

No social distancing in ride queues, however rides are operating at half capacity; while the park is at full capacity...

Amazing for everyone!
Jun 2021 • Family
Amazing. All the queues are decent and most operations are surprisingly quick. And even though the smiler always has a decently long queue, it’s well worth it. Plenty for the family such as wicker man, spinball whizzer and of course ceebibies land with the octonauts coaster. The staff are all kind and are very helpful. And all the events such as fireworks, scarefest, christmas and summer events are so much fun. Very welcoming. Feels like somewhere special in your heart.

Overpriced for a nice walk- don’t expect to ride much
Really disappointing.
Queues way too long, masks not consistently enforced, park not looking as well maintained as it used to.
Entered the park 10.15 and had only ridden 2 rides by 12.30 (oblivion and Enterprise- so only one big ride).
Concession on stands understaffed and slow.
Explored fast passes…. Minimum £120 on top of £204 entry and parking makes for a very expensive family day out just walking around not able to ride much at all.
Sad as previous visits have been much better and it’s not even really that busy.
I wouldn’t come again having been a previous fan.

Fabulous day out....
Amazing day out with the kids.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. We purchased the Gold fast track and was worth every penny.
Didn’t have to queue whatsoever for any rides and managed to go on 14 rides including all the popular ones like Thirteen-Rita-Nemesis-Galactica-Smiler-Wicker man-Oblivion-Spin ball and lots more.
Would recommend to book the fast track pass in advance as they only sell a limited amount and sell out quite quickly.
We heard many people trying to buy them on the day and the staff advised they were sold out by 10.30 am.

Rude
Jun 2021 • Friends
I’m highly disappointed and upset in 2 of Alton towers staff members, I think you need to teach your staff some manners, on the 16th June 2021 I traveled 5 hours to stay for the night, on that day I won’t on the wicker man, which I fitted in with a little push for the lady(who was lovely) she was determined to shut it, I went img a few other rides which were awesome, the following day I went back to the park again for my last day, I decided to go on the wicker man again because it liked it the first time, waited nearly an hour to get on there for me not to fit, the man wasn’t bothered in trying to push the bar, when I told him I got into it yesterday his response was DID YOU, how bloody rude and to top it off the women on the announcing bit told everybody they had to unlock it because somebody couldn’t fit, it was the most upsetting and embarrassing thing ever! If that hadn’t of happened to me I would have enjoyed my last day! The social distancing was ridiculous, nobody listens to it, the food was bizarre and the drinks well bloody hell! For my first visit to Alton towers it was okay but I don’t think I will visit again for a very long long time!
