Nice quiet kayak paddle with reasonable prices at Trapper Johns it was a great day. Also they have a shuttle that took us back at the end of the trip

My wife and I took a great September kayak trip on Darby creek at Trapper Johns canoe livery. We will do it again. We saw a lot of wildlife, turtles, fish, and birds! The small rapids were also great fun!

Trapper John's is busy during the summer months so I would recommend going before noon. Our family went on the 4 mile/2 hour trip. It goes really fast. We liked it better than Mohican because it is less "wild" and less crowded.

Every summer I take my kids on the Darby Creek. We started out with canoes because they were too young to kayak. Two kids can kayak and complete the Sampler Tour now (ages 10 and 12). The youngest (6) still stays in a canoe. She actively paddles and helps to steer. The staff at Trapper John's have always been super... More

We've come before with our own kayaks and paid to get a shuttle back to Trapper John's from the Lower Darby. Today they told us that we needed to first drive our truck down to the take out site and shuttle back to the livery. When my husband politely talked to the owner, he told them that it is to... More

We rented 4 kayaks and chose the 1-2 hour trip. It was amazing. All downstream w pick up at the end. A few small waterfalls added just enough excitement. A perfect day! Thanks to great staff at checkout, the store, and pick up crew.

Overall the experience was fantastic. My husband and I try to get out and kayak a few times a summer. The water seemed to be at a good level at the beginning but there were two spots we had tog et out and carry our kayaks. We saw sun bathing turtles laying on partially submerged trees. Just make sure you... More

Its a great trip for those that just want to be on the water for a few hours. Trip is not real long and would be great for beginners.

Arrive to a jam pack parking lot. Busy labor day weekend. Went with my famiy of 5. Had to wait about 15 mintues for kayaks. They had plenty of canoes though. It was my first time kayaking. It was easy and fun. Water was about 4 feet deep and even shallower at some places. Felt safe the whole trip. We... More
