Great place to spend the whole day with the family. Plenty of free parking and the entry fee is split to those who just want the garden or those that want both the garden and the house visit. It is a beautiful walk through the walled gardens and for those who like long walks there is a walk of several... More

I've been to many national trust places but seemed to have missed this one. It was worth waiting for and was great on a lovely spring Sunday morning. The gardens are beautiful and the kids liked the fairies in the trees. The walled yard and flowers are worth a visit too. The kids enjoyed the adventure playgrounds and the shop... More

National Trust staff often have a tendency to be slightly patronising, but it is perhaps necessary when you see and hear of some of the stupid things visitors do. The Hall is a lovely example of a modest sized country gentleman's home and filled with interesting things. The walled garden, on the other side of the quiet coutry road that... More

Wallington Hall is hands down my favorite national trust property in all of Northeast England. The house is kept in beautiful condition, and the staff is kind. Often, in the house, there are mini scavenger hunts for things. Last time I was there, throughout the house you had to find 28 red squirrel toys. The gardens are beautiful and well... More

What an afternoon! I only saw the lower floor of the house, silly me never found the stairs! What I saw was very grand but also down to earth - such a privilege to be welcomed into a family home by such helpful friendly staff. But the highlight for me was the woodland walks and more wildlife than I have... More

We visited on a day that rained and was relieved to find it did not matter! Although obviously a lot is outdoors there was still lots to explore inside too. The grounds are beautiful as is the house, it's just picture perfect. The play areas were fun and the walks round were nice too. Crocuses still to be a popular... More

Been coming here for nearly 20 years, this was our first visit without children, so seen the place in a different light. There is always something to do, from great walks, the beautiful gardens and the house to childrens playgrounds to the wildlife hive. The place has a lot of building work going on at the moment but this didn't... More

Paul Kingston's photograph of the new crocus lawn reminded me the place exists and it did not disappoint, both inside and out. Friendly staff and so much to see in half a day. Plan to return soon. Good parking and lots of lovely walks and gardens.

We visit here quite often throughout the year, there is always something different to see and do, the crocuses in the walled garden are beautiful, spent a while in the wildlife hide, disappointed we didn't see a red squirrel this time. Lots of walks and plenty to keep the children entertained.

Went to see the crocuses in the garden, which were lovely, even on a grey day. Enjoyed touring the house, which was almost empty. Freeflow and removal of almost all barriers, as well as decent light levels and properly lit ceramic displays make it an excellent visit. The afternoon was only let down by the cake in the cafe, which... More
