Spent the day at holy island and had a wonderful time walking around the island, buying local supplies and enjoying visiting the church, the castle which was unfortunately closed for repair, and the life boar station which had an interesting information regarding the coast line...More

At present is being renovated so you cannot go in. National Trust are fixing the roof and the scaffolding masks the place. THe walks and gardens are still nice though.

The walk to the castle is easy and very relaxing, but at times it can get very windy so make sure you bring a windbreaker. The castle itself was nice. The part that was open to the public was very interesting, especially the room on...More

Unfortunately our visit was disappointing as work is currently being carried out so it is covered in scaffolding - no photographs ! We walked to the garden and all round the castle before heading to the Priory.

Currently covered in scaffolding, but I'd come back just to climb up and see the view. I really enjoyed walking around it, and seeing the Gertrude Jekyll garden - gorgeous!

Well worth a visit to this place. Stunning scenery the village has lots to look round and getting across the road is amazing scenery too.

As a blue badge holder I was able to drive nearly all the way to the castle. Those who were able could get nearer, will reopen 2018

I am unsure about the shuttle bus service as my husband and I travelled by car onto the Island. However, I seem to remember reading that there is a regular shuttle bus service and it runs throughout the week.
