Even in mid September these gardens are worth a visit. Wonderful color schemes? The views of the gardens, park and Hall are amazing. The little restaurant serves nice cold and warm dishes.

My wife and I visited the first week in September. The tea-room is amazing and well worth a visit. If you are planning a visit you may be aware that Howick House was the home of Earl Grey so afternoon tea in what is an...More

Tuesday 22 August 17. My husband and I decided to visit Howick Hall Gardens. Howick Hall was the home of the Grey family from 1319 until the death of the 5th Earl Grey in 1963. The Estate then passed to his eldest daughter, Lady Mary...More

Really enjoyed our visit here. Spent the whole day and still didn't see everything, the woodland paths seemed to go on for miles. There were different garden plant habitats and if you are a plantaholic like me, you would love it! The perennials were varied...More

Our visit would have been more enjoyable had the weather not been coldish with lowering skies, but you can't control the British weather. The gardens and arboretum are huge - you could easily spend a whole day here. Due to my painful knee we restricted...More

We visited the gardens with our granddaughters who love flowers. Although August is not the best time to visit a garden, Howick still provided a nice show. It is quite large with both a garden area and an arboretum, and there are wide walks though...More

This can be a straight formal garden tour or something more as there are a series o walks which leave the garden confines but cover the wider escape one of which ( The Long Walk) is about three and a half miles round and goes...More

As an Earl Grey drinker I took the opportunity to visit Howick, having "done" most of the other castles and historic buildings in previous visits to Northumberland. Free parking was a great start. They are perhaps doing themselves out of money by only charging £7...More

Been here a few times now. Great gardens and the extensive woodland walks are a must. Had a snack for lunch - soup and toasties - beautiful surroundings and a pleasant change from the usual commercialised places you find. Very reasonable entry fee makes it...More
