Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway is a fantastic way to see the resort of Cleethorpes. Steam and diesel locomotives on the 15" gauge track take visitors on a two-mile journey along the seafront, stopping at three stations. But the attraction is much more than a railway. It includes a tea room, The Signal Box Inn - reputed to be the world's smallest pub - a gift shop, locomotive sheds and workshops.

Arrived at The Platform 1 Cafe 26/4/17 after a severe hailstorm. The cafe was warm and the coffee was excellent. The cafe manageress, driver, guard and signalman were most welcoming and helpful We bought tickets and boarded the train. We went to Humberston and off to Kingsway Station before returning to Lakeside. It's a quaint line with lots of scenery.... More

I love this little steam train, did the return line which takes about 35 minutes, you can hop off at any station and then get back on to continue your trip.

I have been on this little railway many times, as it's fairly local to me. My youngest son in loves trains and would always choose the railway for a day out. You can also visit the sandpit, the discovery centre, boating lake, play area and in summer the paddling pool. We usually make it a full day out.

Cute trains on a great loop, with friendly staff. There is a leisure centre and beach at one end, a sweet station with great pub in the middle, and a nature reserve with parks and boating lake just a short walk away at the other end! Trains run regularly on a loop, and each stop is worth exploring. We easily... More

The full board return trip takes about 45 minutes. Your actually moving for about 20 the other time sat at stations and boarding etc. The staff are great. Went for the easter egg hunt. Great idea. Could of done with explaining that the hunt doesnt include eggs when you find the clues...you get a cream egg at the end with... More

Hello, Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear of your experience with us. However, the full line return journey does take approximately 45 minutes. Trains have to wait at the stations for a certain amount of time due to health and safety regulations. The lines have to be clear for the trains to depart and/or proceed into stations, hence... The Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway was an enjoyable experience and at £11.50 for two adults and a child for a full line return it wasn't too badly priced. The LNER steam engine was great and very evocative of times past. However, I thought that the carriages needed some love. The website is very informative but one or two of the... More

Hello, We're glad you had an enjoyable experience with us when you visited. We're sorry to read some of your comments were not as positive. However, a process of maintenance is under way with the carriages but these things do take time. The tickets can be purchased at all three stations but Humberston is only open during the Summer holidays,... More

Visited Cleethorpes for the day which was the first sunny day in April having visited here many times in the past, we decided to visit the light railway and spend sometime on the train. At four pound per adult return ticket which was very reasonable, getting off at the first station halt we visited the boating lake and had a... More
