Great to be able to go into such a lovely wooden structure. There is a good view from the top. There was a shop where you can buy food that was made from the windmill. We did not get time to try the tea room...More

Tearoom excellent. Didn't make the windmill tour due to disability. Shop very good but could have more choice. Especially home made cakes to take away. Have tried many times to visit . Good job we're local as eventually we passed and it was open at...More

Nice little shop & lovely lady in there. We went around the windmill not really suited for younger children as the ladders to all the floors aren't really suited. Worth a stop if passing & the tea rooms are lovely too .

We have just visited the Donkey sanctuary at Huttoft and saw the windmill on our way home. Lovely, helpful lady behind the till. My kids loved going up to the top, the 2 year old wasn't so sure about coming back down though! All in...More

Though there is more to Alford than the windmill the presence of a working windmill is a symbol of this town. As well as the opportunity to view the windmill working, there is a cafe and shop. The latter continues to sell a range of...More

The windmill wasn't working when we visited, not enough wind but it was still worth the trip climbing all the way up to the top. We were told all the history and its mind blowing to think how it was built without modern technology Well...More

We were here two years ago staying in Alford. This year we're in Goulceby but popped back to the windmill for cake and tea. Both delicious as always. Dog welcome too!

Yes, we love dogs. Well behaved dogs are welcome on-site and in the shop and tearoom. The mill has to remail out of bounds as it's a place of food manufacture. Water bowls are scattered around the place! :)
