I didn't realise until I arrived that Margate has such a fantastic beach. No wonder a resort grew up here. Dog free in the summer which is a plus.

Beautiful sandy beach clean as well. On weekends there's a few little rides for young children. There's a theam park open weekends which is opposite the beach . Lots of arcades for both adults and children. Lovely day out for all

Beautiful spot. Perfect for a walk. The sand is very fine. I don't know if it is very popular during the summer...concerned whether the place would be clean...it looks like the locals dump their stuff everywhere :(

We were visiting in May so there was no one bathing, but the beach was a great walk and the view especially in the evening/sunset was fascinating!!

We took a gentle stroll across the sands, what a lovely place, good views out across the sea, lots of shipping, I expect it would be fairly busy in the summer but a great place to spend the day if you enjoy the sunshine

Lovely, lively, plenty to do here. Dreamland is opposite. Station is a couple of minutes walk away. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants ranging from Caribbean, Indian, American diner, pizza, fish and chips, jellied eels, ice cream. Pubs, bars, coffee shops too. Dinner...More

The beach itself is lovely and the sand very soft but when we went in May 2017, there was sadly a lot of glass around and I would not feel comfortable letting my child run around bare footed which is a great shame. Nearby attractions...More

The best beach for soft sand (although there was a little glass). It was not hot but ok. The kids loved playing in the water (it was freezing). We were able to build a sand castle and collect shells.

Any day is a good day but Monday's the seafood van is shut and the Turner Gallery is shut too. If you love a good sunset this is the perfect spot for a beautiful one and very photo worthy. Sunset around 8.45 at the moment.
