We visited the mill on Heritage Open Day so it was free which was a bonus. It is a work in progress as the shutters had been removed from the sails for repair. However there were extremely informative and enthusiastic guides to explain the workings and the history of the mill. It was probably more suited to an adult than... More

Fabulous tour of this superb 18th century windmill. The VOLUNTEERS are second to none. Very informative, went at my pace, answered my questions very knowledgeably in an understandable way. £2 entrance fee a steal. I came away really inspired to visit other local windmills and ensure I re-visit this one. Whole-heartedly recommend a visit for all ages....(NB :Some working parts... More

Highly recommended. We had an excellent guided tour with some fascinating insights into the processes and equipment of milling. Very educational in an engaging and non-patronising way. Possibly not ideal for young children with steep, narrow ladders up to the third floor. Wonderful views across the bay and countryside. The volunteers who invest their time and energy into maintaining this... More

Travelling around Herne Bay the Wind Mill is easily seen and looks amazing in the summer against a blue sky. It is open to the public but only on certain days at certain months of the year so if you want to visit the inside of the Mill you need to check its opening times. That said, I visited out... More

Thank you for your lovely review Carol. Lovely to hear the Mill is enjoyed even during the months it is closed to the public. Not long until we are open again for the 2016 season - we hope to see you then for a tour inside Herne Mill. Thanks again. More
