Have been here many times & we always love it. The kids really enjoy being able to see so many different animals and doing the quiz around the museum.

It's great to enjoy history for free! The museum has multiple galleries with over 4,000 fascinating taxidermied animals displayed. A great insight into Walter Rothschild and his story. There are video screens dotted around where you can choose to watch and understand how they carry out taxidermy.

A really strange but interesting couple of hours and all free. Donations obviously welcome. Every animal you can think of and polite and friendly staff. Only niggles were that the lift takes ages for pushchairs and the cafe was too small. Apart from that one of the better museums I've been to with young kids.

Until a year ago I did not know this place existed. It has a fantastic collection of taxidermy which are great to look at but have also helped me in my line of work. I have also done a behind the scenes tour in November, worth it just to see how amazing the building is as well as the animal... More

This museum was recommended to us by family who live nearby. Unfortunately it wasn't our kind of thing. If you like stuffed animals then there is virtually every species here...spread over about 3 floors. To be honest very overwhelming and it got a bit much as we walked past the stuffed dogs....value for money...It was free...beware of young children treating... More

This was an unplanned visit and we were a bit worried our children might be a bit young (3 and 7) but not at all. They loved running around looking at all the animals that they had seen in books as well as many more. They were amazed at how big they are in real life. The animals are behind... More

This was not my first visit to the Natural History Museum at Tring, but it was the first in a long time and rekindled some fond memories! It is a large collection of stuffed animals with a changing exhibition on the ground floor: during this visit it was a condensed version of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016. The... More
