We went to our first play at the Plaza (Don't get your nicker in a twist)and what an excellent evening. The play was so funny and the whole cast you could not fault . The delivery was perfect and you could have believed that they were all professional actors. The theatre was the perfect size and it was a real... More

It's small, and slightly shabby. But so well loved and supported by the local community. Volunteers go out of their way to make you welcome. Plus they run small not for profit groups to encourage people to take part. A real community gem. Saw the panto last night and everyone got very involved and had a great time. Oriental Ginger... Thanks for the review. We are aware that parts of the theatre do look a bit "shabby". The auditorium hasn't had a proper refurbishment since it was first converted to a theatre in the 1980s, so this summer we will be redecorating it. Hopefully this will make a difference as it is the main public space in the theatre. Our... More

I like the plaza theatre as a landmark in romsey. It's a good venue for amateur dramatics and the performances are quite good. It's a nice little place to experience something a little low key. A nice night out in romsey when shows are on.

The Plaza Theatre in Romsey is owned and run by volunteers. It has a tremendously varied range of productions, mainly amateur. The majority of productions are put on by the Romsey Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (RAODS) but visiting shows are welcome. My wife and I have been there many times and are hardly ever disappointed, which is unusual for... More

Hi Chris, We're glad that your overall impressions of the theatre were good, but it's a shame you didn't enjoy the play. We'd like to know if it was the play itself, or our production of it, that you didn't like? We would certainly hope you might come back another time and see another show - maybe one that's more... The Plaza is a wonderful little theatre in the heart of Romsey. Ideal if your into a more intimate gathering (small theatre hold around 50) main stage is around 200. There is parking at the rear, a bar and extremely helpful and polite staff. It is a really good experience, they show plays/concerts that you would not get to see... More

Dear bettyboop20, Thank you for the positive review. We are so glad you had a good time. To address your negative points: As an old cinema, there is limited space to extend the toilet facilities, unfortunately.
