Well done to Salford Council for ploughing the money in to restore this wonderful building. It is very family friendly and hands on for children. Plenty of information boards and staff available to answer questions. I think the best has been done with what was...More

So what would you expect to see to find in amongst the units of an industrial estate and modern housing? Well certainly not Ordsall Hall but there she is in all her glory. It isn't the grandest hall in the world but it is rather...More

The multi-million pound resurrection of Ordsall Hall from dereliction has been well worth the effort. In its renewed state it is a fascinating, if partial, reminder of how some leading families lived in Greater Manchester four and more centuries ago. Although some restored areas of...More

A coach trip of U3A members, we were delighted to find this hidden gem. The restoration work has been done to the highest standard. It was good to have lifts enabling everyone to see all the floors. The guided tours we'd booked were well delivered...More

As the other reviews say, a wonderful place for kids - took my 2 year old and she loved it! Cafe is nice but quite small so you may find it gets full around meal times. Also check opening times as it is closed on...More

This is weird! A fantastic old building surrounded by ‘modern ‘ houses and industry and some idiots wanted to demolish it!!!! A really good place to spend an hour or so. Lots of interesting stuff here and great for children who can dress up in...More

Wow,what a find. Stayed in a hotel nearby and wanted to visit somewhere of local interest before going home. What an amazing well kept Hall! And most surprising as it’s surrounded by housing estates. The staff are great, and while we were there,a school group were...More

A fantastic Tudor building, superbly restored with excellent displays. A Grade One listed building that is now a free entry museum, with much to explore and something for everyone. Open Sunday - Thursday for museum visitors. Available for meetings and weddings on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hi Paul, Yes, it's fine to take photos of the building for non-commercial purposes. We only ask that you don't take pictures of children while you are here. Hope to see you soon! Best wishes, Ordsall Hall
