Despite it being quite foggy I enjoyed the walk and my husband enjoyed the train trip. The cafe on the end (not Jimmy and Jamie!) was good, not your typical resort food and the unexpected bonus was a beer and folk music festival happening in...More

You find glorious views you could only see while dreaming and see the sunset go from epic to deep red. That is, if you can find it on Google maps or an Infotainment system. Truly epic

Great to walk there and back. Great cafe at the end and if the weather is nice you can take your time.

As a spare of the moment idea myself and some friends decided to take the train to the end of the pier. The trip out was very enjoyable and the views back to the seafront from the far end of the pier were lovely. Even...More

Love the pier, but it really does need sorting out at the end of the walk or ride to the end. The cafe from the very beginning has always been a grim experience in terms of long waits and lack of any imaginative food on...More

We're sorry you were disappointed with your visit. During the summer months one of our pop up beach hut will be offering chips. We are looking at expanding the food options at the end.

Such a lovely thing to do and say that you’ve done! Cute for couples. Coffee shop is lovely and not too expensive at the end. Train back is great value and the views are incredible. Nice to see Southend from that distance. Highly recommend!

Have always wanted to go on the pier so took the train both ways. Train fairly old and noisy but enjoyable. Pier does not have much going on which was slightly disappointing, no little shops or kiosks, just a cafe and small kids crazy golf...More
