Take our dog here every weekend and he loves it, as do we. Nice forest walks as well as open land. Really lovely and unspoilt.

This is a great place with a diversified landscape. There are wide open spaces but also hidden gems like the ancient walks through sunken ways. There are deer; the lakes ; conker trees in early autumn. It has everything an outdoor enthusiast would hanker after....More

This Essex County Council run country park is in a lovely setting with superb views and paths to explore. Sadly the expensive car parking charges deter many families from using it.

I love South Weald, have lived in the area for over 30 years and spent many happy hours there with my children when they were young. Having said that, I do think the car parking charges are far too high. I agree with the review...More

There’s something for all ages. I love the reindeer I told my daughter it’s where they have a holiday after all the hard work at Christmas.......her face was priceless!

Walked only a small part of it, mainly round the lake, but good scenery and views. Maps on boards at various places but understand maps of the whole place aren't readily available. Liked the carving of the dog outside the cafe. Homely and quirky interior...More

Weald Park is a great place for a peaceful stroll. Deers roam the quieter parts of the forest, it's a toss up who is more surprised when coming across them. Cows, horses, squirrels a plenty, rabbits, ducks, geese, fish and the elusive mountain bike riders...More

It depends on the age of your children and whether they know the stickman books. My two grandchildren only 2 and 3 so they enjoy climbing on the structures.
