A group of 10 of us came to have the tour and found it really informative. There a good number of steps to climb and you have to be wearing proper footwear. The views from the top are beautiful so definitely worth going on a clear day!

I run a local Norfolk Web Based Adventure Social Group called Norwich Social Adventure. A must when in Southwold, the views from the top are lovely on a clear day, guided tour of the lighthouse on your way up is very interesting, explaining how the light source has changed over the years. You have to prebook a time slot to avoid disappointment plus the lighthouse is only open on certain days and times, check out the website for prices and opening times.…

I booked a surprise private visit to Southwold Lighthouse for my husband for his birthday (you have to book through Trinity House for a small fee, but it's worth it as all the tour guides are volunteers). We were given a very warm welcome by Brad, our tour guide, who was very knowledgeable, and passionate about the lighthouse. The views from the top of the lighthouse are amazing, and it's great to see inside a working lighthouse. Took my 5 year old son to Southwold lighthouse and he described it as one of the best days of my life! Fun informative educational and all round wonderful experience during our short break. Highly recommended

A wonderful trip up this lighthouse with a very fascinating summary of its history delivered by Tim our tour guide. I had no idea that light houses had so much going on inside them. Would recommend fully.
