Typical traditional pier without all the rides.

Visited last week when in Suffolk. A great traditional pier, worthy of a visit and walk to the end... read more

If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

Only a few restaurants were open as it was evening when we visited but the pier was a good traditional place to visit. There are several shops, a quirky amusement arcade which we popped into, looked fun. If you like British piers, this should please...More

The amusements alone are worth the visit. Such good fun and very original. The salivating dog is brilliant. Test your nerve !!!!

On our journey to visit all U.K. Piers, it was felt that this is one of the most relaxing. A lovely tea room, and cake, that could be eaten on perfect seating on the pier overlooking the sea. There are some interesting sights. A pier...More

A small yet traditional pier, it is minimalistic yet has one of everything you need to have a nice time, arcades, places to eat, I really enjoyed the old themed arcade games you could have a go on, very good. Defiantly worth having a look.

It was raining when we went so probably not the best day, it was also quite late in the day so everything was closing which was a shame but still had an enjoyable afternoon.

One of the key facets of this very traditional English seaside resort. Not to be missed. Adults and children of all ages will enjoy this pier.

Everything is beautifully themed, from the leaflet to the attractions. Well kept, well staffed, friendly seaside traditional attraction.

The alternative arcade is great on this pier - would recommend the bathyscape, its funny! Great hall of mirrors and nice gift shop. Free to walk on and there is a cafe too!

Hi Kevin Apologies for the late response. All plaques that are placed on the pier stay up indefinitely so it will certainly still be there. We look forward to seeing you on your trip this Summer. Kind regards Peter
