Quite a simple waterfall in Shillong Cantt. Loads of steps so be prepared to climb them back. Good photo opportunities.

Beautiful falls in three steps. A must do thing on your Shillong visit. I heard that its called elephant falls because of a Rock that was right next to the falls that resembled a baby elephant. However, it was destroyed due to some flood. Make sure you have good camera to capture the beauty of this place.

This is a central piece in Shillong. The spot is neat and well organized. But there are too many staris for senior citizen

Visited on 18 Apr 17. There is nothing great about these falls. One has to go down (and climb back) more than 200 steps to the waterfall. The water also does not look clean due to lots of moss and algae gathered over the years (and obviously no-one bothering to do anything about it). There are much better waterfalls on... More

This is very nice place. We visited this place in March and then the water was a trickle. I could imagine the beauty during June-Nov, when the falls would be enchanting

We went on a weekday and hence it was easy to park and walk up and down the path to the waterfall. Decent toilet facilities as well. However people with back and leg problem can find the path too steep,

This fall used to resemble as head of an elephant, but after the earthquake of 1956 the major structure got deconfigured, but still one can visit here. If you like to be in the attire of locals there is a shop for the same, just outside the premises of falls

These falls are very beautiful and had enough water in April unlike the falls in cherapunjee. There are steps to go down and back. Very nice spot for photos
