The statue is on a hill. Nice view from the statue place. This month there is maha abhisheka which will be held once in 12 years.

We visited Bahubali in December 2017. We reached the base site at around 11am, and started the climb up the mountain. Now, the good part is that it is not a steep climb like the Edakkal Caves, rather a gentle slope, but a climb none-the-less....More

The walk up the hill is steep, long and tiring. Thanks to the railings, the climb was easier. But once up, its a lot cooler and the statue is awesome. The manager, pujari were very helpful and allowed us to do a small puja since...More

This is definitely a don't miss opportunity. Plenty of stairs to get your exercise, and a great view of the region. A nice break from the crazy Indian traffic!

You have to change bus at Channaraypatna. Hassan which is 1 hour bus from CHannaraypatna is better place to leave. Shravanabelgola might have some accomodation as it is pilgrimage for Jains, but sometimes only for Jains.
