Peaceful, devout old style temple. Remember to visit in mornings. Temple pat is closed in afternoon opening for only 5 minutes at 06:00 PM. Friendly sadhaks in residence in campus. Only regret: not much literature (or detailed knowledge from residents) available here.

Very old temple, right in the middle of the city that offers a very quiet and peaceful ambience on most days.

We had visited this temple dedicated to Goddess Kali during our sightseeing in Guwahati. The temple is a small one with less crowd and temple premises were clean & well maintained. The temple remains closed in the afternoon between 1 to 5.30 pm - therefore plan your visit accordingly. The priest did a small puja for us.

This is a local temple where a local Indian deity is worshipped. This place is good for peace lovers and then one can go there as a task on their spiritual quest.

I loved going to this temple simply because of its quite and clean ambience. There are a lot of pigeons and geese around this temple. Kids usually love to run after them

A great temple in Guwahati next to a lake. The temple is a little crowded but quite clean. Interestingly, there is no idol of any god/ goddess in the temple

The correct name is ,Ugra Tara' and not 'Urra Tara' temple. Located in a very quiet locality in the western side of Jor Pukhury tanks in the heart of Guwahati city . The history of the temple is described adequately on the internet. The temple is quiet and peaceful and maintained very clean. In the garbhagriha of Ugra Tara there... More
