4 of us ( 2 families) travelled to Kaziranga for 2 days on December 02. We reached Guwahati at 09:15 from Kolkata, and were off in a car to Kaziranga. Enroute, we stopped for breakfast and then for a short tea break, reaching Kaziranga ( Central Range - Kohora) at about 2:00 pm. This was pretty late for arranging an... More

Having 2,000 one-horned behemoths in a protected space is awesome. Often they don't do much, but when one plowed across the road just behind our truck it was quite the moment. The sunrise elephant ride in the tall grass is terrific and reveals rhinos in pools, underbrush, etc. Lots of deer, hogs and birds. Roads are rutted and the park... More

Kaziranga has the unique distinction of being the land of one horned rhinos. Spread over a large expanse of grasslands and forest area, it is the home to the rhino, wild elephants, deer, birds, wild water buffalo, wild boar and tiger (though rarely seen). It is situated on the main highway going to Dibrugarh approx. 4 hrs drive from Guwahati.... More
