The Rutherford B Hayes Library (and museum) is one of the two indoor attractions which along with the Hayes tomb and the beautiful grounds of Spiegel Grove comprise the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential site. Somehow Tripadvisor has divided one attraction into four separate listings, which is good if you are looking to rack up some points to move up a... More

RB Hayes Library is a great place to do genealogy research. They have computers and tables to spread your stuff out on. Lots of staff members on hand to talk to you and help you as well. I will be back many times in the future!

We visited the Hayes home that was recently restored. That project took approx. 4 years with historical accuracy based on diaries and pictures. Although a little sarcastic at times, our guide was extremely knowledgable. It was an interesting tour and the grounds are beautiful to walk! We also paid extra to view the "red" First Lady display. We were a... More

We do all of our travels by car. We take our time and see America. The RBH Library is one of those gems that you would surely miss if you are in a hurry to get somewhere. We look for presidential sites whenever we stop and were not disappointed with this one. We did get chased away from the house... More

Wonderful staff to help w/genealogy research for free! Due to cutbacks they are not open on Mondays. Occasionally there are beginning genealogy classes (for a minimal fee) to help one start learn about how to do searches. Donations are accepted.

I live in Fremont, and when ever we have visitors we always take them out to see the Presidential Center. If you are near in October they have a wonderful reenactment with a battle and also a shopping area like it was in Civil War time. They also have many people in period costume camping out. When I was a... More

We are on a dead presidents kick & did not know much about President Hayes. We took the house & library tour $13 per adult. The house is awesome! Excellent guided tour of beautifully preserved gothic mansion- much of the family's items are there. The library is the first presidential library in the country and has a small but interesting... Our out of towners certainly enjoyed the history and the beauty of the Library and surroundings of this nearby historical landmark. It was a refreshing change of pace from the boating and beaches on the Lake, but it was fun to get back to the Lake after the touring of the excellent Library.
