We stopped by the park to check out the beach and swimming area. The beach was not crowded (Tuesday ) the sand on the beach was ok but had many small pebbles mixed in. There are restrooms at the beach. There is also a playground area at the beach. The lake is very beautiful and did not have a lot of boats on the water, there is unlimited horse power on the lake. The park has a full service marine that also rents boats. There is also launching ramps for boats trailered in. They have several pinic tables and shelterhouses. There is also a camping area with 200 plus sites, electric and restrooms. There are also some Yurt sites that can be rented. The camping area is pet friendly. They have hiking trails. The park also has an area where hunting is available when in season, and fishing available year round.

It's not as busy as other state parks and the staff is super friendly. We plan to rent a slip next summer and go more often.

The area we were in had a nice beach with playground for the kids. There is plenty of areas to hike around or bring your boat. The beach area seemed a little empty of trees or shade but there is plenty of room. Trails are poorly marked but with open woods it is not hard to get around.

Very crowded state park 30 minutes north of Columbus. The yurt was so infested with "stink bugs" - many of them flying at and on us. I let at least 30 of them outside in a 2 hour period. I probably should have just killed them because they're a non-native invasive species, but they obviously cannot be controlled! We rented the yurt because my teen & I don't love insects, so we thought the yurt would be great. We left early. Funny thing was the yurt had a tv/dvd and it was raining so we drove to redbox and watched a great movie while hiding from flying insects, and so it was a memorable experience for my daughter's 17th birthday trip.

Delaware State Park is 30 mins north of Columbus, OH. Yes, you can go to the beach in Central Ohio! There are also many trails in the wooded areas, multiple picnic and playground areas, and a top-notch campground. Don't forget to bring your boat! The fishing is great too.
