Large Gavel downtown Columbus
Apr 2021
This is one of the oddities that I just had to stop for a visit since I was in town. There isn't much to it aside from the gavel statue, but it is neat. There is parking metered nearby.

Something you don’t see every day
Mar 2021 • Couples
Ok, so this isn’t a huge attraction, but it is a huge gravel. One of what I refer to as The Oddities of Columbus. If you’re in downtown area, stop by for a look and a few pics. There is metered street parking near by.

Fantastic piece of art, it's flabbergasting to see the size of this metal construction. Take a few steps back and stand feet away to get a photo of this art.

Great piece- great location
Feb 2020
It was a chilly but clear day when we went to the Supreme Court building and we visited the park, We saw the gavel on our way to the Court and again after. It was wonderful at first, humbling after the Court House. Well, worth going.

I’m sure it’s a peaceful and lovely spot overlooking the river but it’s still totally fenced off and the fountain is drained. Check back in a year...

Bang the Gavel
Sep 2019 • Couples
I saw this Gavel in Casey Illinois as it was being built. The man at the shop told me I could have it if I could carry it away. Couldn't pick up the handle. Glad it found a good home. Look good at the Courthouse. Look around the Square and the city. Enjoy the trip.

Under construction
Aug 2019 • Family
Definitely a huge gavel but it’s under construction so you can only see it through a fence. Looks like it might be a cool park when it’s done.

The illustration says it all. A querky thing for Columbus on a busy street with no parking. Drive by and glance.

Impressive and pertinent piece of art near the courthouse. While it may not be worth a special trip, keep your eyes open as you drive or walk around town.
