Touring this house full of amazing Thurber memorabilia and stories of his life and times is really a treat not to miss. Easy parking and a welcoming staff make it even better. Stop by the gift shop--lots of fun Thurber inspired items.

After visiting the Columbus Museum of Art, we crossed Washington behind the parking lot and took the brick Arts Walk over to Jefferson, turned left onto the sidewalk and there is Thurber House. The Jefferson Center for Learning and the Arts manages all the houses...More

We came here after it was closed, so we were only able to view the outdoor statues. I showed my kids a cartoon of "The Unicorn in the Garden" before we came so they'd recognize it. The unicorn is across the street with a plaque...More

Our tour was very casual - but hit a lot of the highlights of James life while his family lived at this house. The upstairs is filled with displays of his life and times, and next door is a small garden with several Thurber-dog statues.

We thought this was more like a house like the Kelton House, but were disappointed to find out most of the items are replicas, not originals. We didn't know who Thurber was so it was a bit confusing. We watched the video which is slightly...More

As a lifelong fan of Mr. Thurber's work, I was delighted to visit the house where the bed fell, electricity leaked from the outlets, and the dog that bit people once lived. While the furnishings are not actually Thurber's, the house is restored to the...More
