A Christmas Story House, now restored to its movie splendor, is open year round to the public for tours. Directly across the street from the house is the official A Christmas Story House Museum, which features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos. Among the props and costumes are the toys from the Higbee's window, Randy's snowsuit, the chalkboard from Miss Shields' classroom and the family car. After reliving A Christmas Story at Ralphie's house don't forget to visit the museum gift shop for your own Major Award Leg Lamp and other great movie memorabilia.

We've had this on the to do list for a couple years. Finally had some extra time during a trip to the Cleveland area. The gift shop has a ton of fun items to browse. The tour was very informative and lasted about 45 minutes. Plenty of free parking, beware of neighbors trying to get you to pay $5 to... More

After finding this I was thrilled that we took the time to seek out this house/museum! We parked on the road(did not pay) and visited the house, and the gift shop and museum across from the house. We also stopped in the bar across from the museum which was tasty!

Fun place to visit to say you've been there! I recommended visiting here in conjunction with a night out at one of the many great places in Tremont.

My husband ran in the Christmas Story 5k on Saturday. We wanted to see the house & museum that day, but the lines were crazy long - literally around the block. So we sent back the next day, Sunday. The place is far more hands-on than I had expected. We could touch items, sit on furniture, lay on beds, etc...... More

As a fan of The Christmas Story it was great to visit the house. The attention to detail was amazing. I also learned a lot more about the movie after visiting the museum across the street. I'd you love the movie, you'll love visiting here!

Happened by luck to learn that Ralphie's house was right outside Cleveland. The owner has meticulously recreated the house as you remember it, and our tour guide was really knowledgeable about the history of the property. A must-see if you love this film!

I had seen the movie twice and never liked it. During the tour with the Director on January 2. I had a chance to ask questions. It seems that I had misinterpreted many points on the film. The father's intentions and behavior was a lot more caring than I thought he was when fist saw the film. This is one of... More

Q: What’s better than a Christmas traditional rerun of “A Christmas Story” with Ralphie’s attempt to convince Santa to bring him a Red Ryder BB gun? A: a visit to the Cleveland home where portions of the movie were filmed in 1983. I thought the novelty would have worn off by January 2, what with everyone taking down their Christmas... More
