A cathedral of knowledge

For knowledge in all areas and of course great reading material you will enjoy this place. Parking downtown can be a problem and the area is pretty safe.

This library is absolutely gorgeous! Each floor has something different to offer, including awesome mini displays. The displays are historical, or just cool (miniature books, cool chess sets, etc.) There was even live classical music when we went which made the experience even more magical!

If you love books or architecture or both you will love the Cleveland library - a beautiful old building filled with interesting books and collections. See if you can find the smallest book in the world (hint: it's near the largest collection of books about chess).

No matter what age you are , if you are searching for a book, looking for a movie to rent, or need help to conduct research for school you can find it at the Cleveland Public Library. Many Clevelander's are not even aware of the rare gem we have located downtown, and in our communities. The vast library network is... More

Beautiful building. Palatial staircases. There was a simple exhibit inside the large hall in the middle of the building. And I was able to take fun souvenir pictures for free there.

This urban library has many floors of interesting materials and provides reading spaces that are unique and refreshing. The outdoor reading garden area is very cool. Programs for writers, readers, travelers, and more provide many reasons to visit.

I planned to take out some books. The library staff told me since I did not have a Ohio drivers license I could not take books out. I own property in Lakewood and could produce evidence of that but they would not hear of it. So I pay taxes and I cannot use the facilities of that town- doesn't make... More

My sister insisted we check out the library. Wasn't too excited about it but we went in the building. I was actually amazed. Definitely worth walking through and checking out the beautiful building!!

The Old Cleveland Public Library is beautiful inside and out. We were fortunate enough to view the Shakespeare exhibit, including costumes worn in local plays. Very interesting.

Nice building if you like to view old buildings, huge. Just roam around and take in the details. If you stay downtown it's a short walk.
