As a tourist destination, The Lake View Cemetery offers a variety of walking, bus, and self-guided tours. Among the tour topics are geology, architecture, horticulture, nature, animals, and history. Get a map from the office off Euclid Avenue. Then ask staff person to add their favorites. There are interesting new gravestones, like Alan Freed's jukebox, but the older stones and mausoleums are elaborate, soaring and beautiful.

Very well kept and very picturesque. The Garfield Monument stands out. Limited hours so didn't go inside. Elliot Ness and John Rockefeller burial sites are at the cemetery. The architecture of the crypts and tombstones are amazing pond and Chapel area was very serene.

What an awesome view of Lake from top of the ridge!!!! We enjoyed a leisurely stroll among all the history found in the cemetery. Beautiful wooded area with huge trees and shrubs. A well maintained area. Public restroom was fabulous!!!!! Visit this old cemetery!!!!

I find this cemetery to be very fascinating. There are such old stones and they actually tell the store of the family, names, ages what they did for a living, very interesting. the grounds are immaculate.

Wade and Garfield memorial are open daylight hours. Stop at the office at 123rd and Euclid gate for map, guidance and full info. All is free. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the cemetery. Nice locations are near the... More
