John Ewing provides a cornucopia of great films at the Cinematheque. You can't go wrong with selections of films from across the world and decades of film making. Superb sound system, better seating, and great projection options make this location a thousand times better than the former Cinematheque location. If you haven't been here yet, you need to check it... More

Having recently moved to the new centralized location for the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Cinematheque now has the physical home it has long deserved. The state-of-the-art projection and sound systems (including the ability to continue to project film) support the programming that fans of John Ewing have long enjoyed. Still undiscovered by many greater-Clevelanders, the Cinematheque is one of... More

I came here for HUMP film festival. I wasnt that impressed with the festival itself, but I appreciated that the venue would hold such a unique film festival. I also appreciate that the sound level wasn't too loud. Often other theaters play the music so loud that it hurts. One downfall is that the incline of the stadium seating isn't... More

For people who want to discuss and view films this place might offer them an opportunity to do these things but the prices are somewhat high or expensive and you only get to see the film once before having to pay another admission price. This is a compelling argument in favor of viewing these films at your own place as... More

Off the beaten track films, artistic, avant garde, unusual. Refreshing departure from the big box cinemas. One can actually engage their brain for thought provoking and intriguing films

The Cinematheque offers movies that you aren't going to find anywhere else. The seats aren't very comfortable and there are not a lot of extras (consessions, etc.) but who cares?

The CIA's Cinemateque is a film lover's dream. The Cinemateque presents amazing films from every decade, treasures that film buffs would otherwise never get to see. Can't get enough of the amazing great films at the Cinemateque. One of the greatest things to do all year round in Cleveland.

This is a great place to see movies will never make it to the theaters. If you like artistically and culturally significant films this will be a delight. It is a small theater and parking is limited.
