It's another Ohio winery

My fiancé & I stopped here for a quick tasting. He works at a winery so usually we get a "professional/industry" discount when we visit wineries. Not here, but it is what it is... read more

This place stinks. The owners are both arrogant, especially the wife Dana. Stopped in one day and was talking to the woman serving was polite and sociable. Dana pulled her aside and told her she was being to nice to the guest. For what they charge for wine (Maize Valley is so much better) they should be nice to the... More

My fiancé & I stopped here for a quick tasting. He works at a winery so usually we get a "professional/industry" discount when we visit wineries. Not here, but it is what it is. The property is charming & well kept. They have a few nice lakes. We didn't buy any wine nothing we tasted was great. We usually will... More

Had fun at a girls night out event because the entertainment was fun to enjoy with friends. Otherwise all I can say is Viking needs to step up their game to compare to local wineries. The atmosphere is uninviting. The entrance is an overgrown single lane road. The sign on the door advises that NO outside beverages are allowed. Water... More

Dear "OK", I'm glad you enjoyed the Girls' Night Out. What exactly do you mean by 'stepping up our game to compare to other wineries"? What would you have us do? I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do about the lane - it was there when we moved in, and many customers find it "charming". They like the... More

My wife and I have been to this establishment before. I was in a band that played there. It's in the sticks outside of Mogadore/Tallmadge/Kent, Ohio. There is a one-lane road that leads between two nondescript ponds that leads to the "winery" (and I use that term very loosely). We went to see a couple of guys who were in... More

Dear "Narrow Road", We are sorry you don't like our lane, or our ponds. Unfortunately, they were here when we got here. Many people find the ponds and the outdoors in general quite pleasing. Being "in the sticks" is part of what many people like about our winery - it's quiet. Since you had been here before, I'm not sure... More

This was a first stop at a winery for my friend and I. The atmosphere was dull at best. Nothing inviting to stay and linger. The place had a few over priced pictures on the walls plus a tacky sign encouraging customers to tip the "hard working" server. Do we really need to be told ? She was informative, but... More

Thank you for your review. However, in order to better understand your review, I need to know your definition of 'lacking atmosphere'. Thank you! More

The wine tasting server was very knowledgable and helpful. Noticed a pleasant seating area outside near the lake. The atmosphere inside seemed cheap, dated and not welcoming for a prolonged "wine tasting". We chose to sample a few wines, made our purchases and left.

Dear "dull Atmosphere", As you did not explain what you found 'dull' about the atmosphere, I'm afraid I don't know how to respond. Likewise with "cheap" and dated". What do you mean by that, and what did you expect? While it's true we are not one of the large, fancy wineries, many customers find our winery to be 'cozy and... More

I love going to Viking Vineyard for the beautiful setting and quiet atmosphere! Have been there countless times and although the owners, Jeff and Dana, are the layed back type they have always been courteous and accommodating whenever I've been there. The patio is located near a large pond and is a beautiful setting year round! The wine is very... More

Was really looking forward to checking out the winery since it's close to home, and we really like one of their wines. But our greeting was rather unfriendly, and when explained of the "tasting order" which I totally understand, she seemed to get rather "stern" with me when I chose to go out of order. Thats my choice..its her job... More
