This small but beautiful winery is very quaint but has a feel of some Tuscan hills vineyard. They had the head winemakers talking about their passion of wines which was insightful and the cellar door was very rustic but lovely.

We enjoyed 1 hour and tasted different kinds of wines of their vineyards! We also bought a bottle in their shop and drank it during christmas time in Germany! Awesome! Highly recommendable!

A hard to find but beautiful location in a quaint setting with many vats of grapes and an engaging and warm host. however, this isn't the place for you if you like wines with a more earthy flavor. Two of their wines have a VERY olive aftertaste.

Samuel's Gorge was the first of three wineries our small group visited in McLaren Vale on the advice of the Tourist Info Centre. What a beautiful building, what an incredible view, what fantastic wines. I can't remember the name of our host (big bloke with great leg tatts, and yes, we got to taste the Lloyd at Coriole!), but he... More

We visited Samuels Gorge Winery based on the recommendation of friends. It didn't disappoint. The wines were excellent-- my favourite the Shiraz-- very smooth-- The host had a wealth of local information which he readily shared. He knows his business and is very proud of the development of the wine industry in the area. In addition, the location is spectacular... More

Absolutely beautiful location, amazingly friendly staff (and dog) and really good wines. All reds but all easy drinking not too full bodied, quite a nice break from the heavy reds most other places in SA do. Would highly recommend coming here, for the views and decor alone
