About
What's big and beautiful and goes broom-broom? The National Motor Museum - located less than an hour from the centre of Adelaide, in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. The Museum features over 300 vehicles spanning over 100 years of Australian motoring history, from a steam carriage built in 1899 to modern hybrid cars. A diverse collection including motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles, motoring curios and even a road train. The Museum is also home to the historic finish event of the famous Bay to Birdwood and holds the annual Rock & Roll Rendezvous every April with great live bands, stalls and hundreds of cars and motorbikes on show. There are lots of fun trails and interactives for families and visitors. The Museum can also cater to group bookings such as schools, car clubs, social groups and other events. It is the must see attraction in the Adelaide Hills.

Huge range of vehicles on display
Oct 2021
Took my 14yo to see the museum, as he's a bit of a motor-head (bikes and 4WDs mostly). He raced ahead the whole time we were there, going excitedly from exhibit to exhibit.
We took a more sedate pace, but still enjoyed both of the pavilions.
Great displays, lots of information on the vehicles - overall, a great place to spend a couple of hours surrounded by motor history in Australia.
P.S. Don't forget to look up at the ceiling to see a re-creation of the Holden production line.

A must see
Apr 2021
This museum is amazing with the number of cars on display and the quality of what is on show is twice as amazing. The Holden concept cars which are featuring at the moment are a privilege to see and may never be seen altogether this way again. Definitely worth the visit, there will be a car there that everyone can appreciate.

A good outing for the family

Even though I wasn’t that keen on cars, going with car enthusiasts made this an interesting place. Lots of things to look at and interactive games and activities for kids.

Not worth the entry fee
Nov 2020
I visited this museum today and considered it to be very poor value for money. There was probably no more than 20 cars , and the rest were trucks and buses. There was a central area where at least a further 20 cars were covered over.

It took me no more than 20 minutes to view the cars they had. Frankly on a Sunday you can go to Strathalbyn and see more cars. I’m sorry to be so blunt , but I did honestly feel it was poor value for money. Reception seemed more interested in giving me vouchers to go and spend further money at the cafes and hotel.

Overall , I didn’t see it as being value for money.

Must-go attraction for motor enthusiasts
Sep 2020 • Family
The fact that they have Bugatti there! 😍 (Not sure how long it will be on display there though. It'll be good to give a call and check.) And a large collection of cars and motorbikes. A must go attraction for motor enthusiasts.
