This 'attraction' would appear to be stuck in a 1970s time warp. On the plus side, at least you were not charged an entrance fee. The associated buildings looked bleak and unused as did the surrounding 'gardens'. The pineapple itself...the downstairs 'museum' was sad and on the verge of being a historic icon. Clearly no investment has been near this... More

you got to tick the big pineapple off your australia's big things list. it was much better when I was a kid. it's a little run down now which is a shame. you can go inside it to find some fun facts and up top get some views.

We stopped by this local zoo which is by the 'Big Pineapple'. The zoo is small but has a good selection of local Australian animals which can be observed by either holding them or walking through the areas with them. Beautiful setting with old trees. Great koala bears.

We stopped here for lunch at the cafe and a quick look at the big pineapple. The cafe was small but quite nice with toasted sandwiches, pies, fruit, etc. We then walked to the top of the big pineapple but didn't go on the train or the zoo because we didn't have enough time but it looked quite good. A... More

a lot of the reviews on here have been quite negative about the big pineapple, but really, I think the majority simply don't understand what they are coming to see. yes, it is getting a bit tired, and yes, there isn't much to do there apart from climb up the pineapple, stop in the cafe/giftshop or visit the small zoo... Went there with our daughter who is a vet student - she particularly enjoyed the koala cuddle in the small but interesting zoo. Ok, the place could do with some investment around the entrance but don't let that put you off.

Climb the pineapple and you have done all there is to do here. The attraction is out dated and dilapidated.

We were recently driving down the highway and saw signs for the big pineapple, so we took a detour to see it. Outside is faded from the Queensland sun but inside is old, dirty and dusty. With a bit of a clean and some fresh paint this place could be great, but at the moment I felt dirty after having... More

Called in to grap a pic of the big fruit, and just as well we did not want to do anything else. 1pm on a weekday, and aside from the kiosk it looked all closed up. Lights off, nobody home at the zoo. No reason to linger, so we left.
