We visited The Australian Platypus Park yesterday with our young kids (3,7,10,12) and we had a fantastic day. Although these animals are shy and rare, we saw at least 5!!! We also had a really nice lunch with wonderful views to the lake. Great service of the friendly staff Highly recommended Udi and Shira

Fishing lakes that have found they attract platypus which thankfully the owners are now ensuring are protected and cared for. Little cafe and informative briefing before you are sent off with a few hints on best chance of viewing the little fellows. We spent an hour and saw at least 5 individuals and managed a few decent photos. Patience is... More

I think that from my experience and that of other reviewers that it is wrong to "guarantee " a sighting . I would have been quite happy to pay the $6 without such a promise as this leads to unrealistic expectations Clearly the owners know this as otherwise we would have been asked what we saw when we got back... We are sorry if you did not get to see any Platypus on your visit. Unfortunately since they are not caged animals sometimes seeing one can be difficult. You should have approached one of our staff and let them know that you did not see any Platypus on your visit and we would have provided some assistance. With regards to... More

Thanks to Tina for your very informative platypus talk! Unfortunately we failed to see a platypus. Kudos for giving us a pass to come back again though, nice touch :-)

Pity you did not see the Platypus on the day, and with that pass you can visit us again to try and spot the Platypus. As you can see from other reviewers, people lately have been very fortunate to see 2-5 Platypus playing in our ponds at a time. More

Went there on our way from cairns to mission beach. It's not a spectacular spot but it's definitely worth going there when you're on the road. We had the chance to spot platypus in an natural environment. Tina and Andrew are amazing. Very friendly and nice. She knows a lot about the animals and she shares it with you. They... More

Thank you for your feedback We take seriously your comments. We would like to say we are sorry your experience wasn’t as enjoyable as your previous visits. It seems you came on the days when our chef was away and we were experiencing staffing issues. Unlike in cities, in remote regional areas, it is not easy to get staff at... More

Saw one platypus after 45 minutes a long distance away saw it breathe in distance twice before swimming under Lilly's. as per photos the area is to big and apparently the burrows are on other side. I don't think the owners really care as we were never asked how our experience was or if we found them on returning. My... More

Did not see one platypus !! A big sign will tell you that you are guaranteed to see a platypus, but they wont give you your money back if you don't see one. We waited and watched down by the pond for 1/2 an hour to see nothing, eventually a lady come down to show people what they were looking... More

Normally very difficult to sight but this makes a viewing almost guaranteed - easy place to relax, have a meal and wander down to the "lakes" - lots of fun when you see the bubbles.
