The local Council has done a fantastic job in upgrading the lookout. It is great to see the names of families embedded in bricks on the concrete. The view over the Endeavour River as well as the ocean, are a "must see".

Hiked up to the top of Grassy Hill from our guesthouse to take in the stunning panoramic view of Cooktown and the bay. There are plaques with info about the history of the lighthouse and area.

Worth the climb to see the whole bay. Walk in James Cook's shoes and take yourself back nearly 200 years

I walked up from Cooktown and it takes about 20 minutes. You can drive up and there is parking. The views are excellent and well worth the visit.
